Even if they do manage to click an ad, they are not likely to buy anything from the advertisers website. Google calls the act of clicking an ad and then completing some advertiser defined action such as buying something from the advertiser converting. Google can track conversions with cookies and something called Google Analytics, a web code installed on the advertisers web page. People who find a website by searching in Google are looking for something, and they want that information or product as quickly as possible. That is where your properly designed website and adsense come in. There is a higher degree of probability that people who found your website using Google and then clicked an ad will convert more often for the advertiser. Google rewards you for this by not “smart pricing” you. More about that later. One other word about social sites. The traffic generated from social sites is temporary traffic that requires constant attention from you to continue to drive it. Wouldn’t you rather learn how to rank well in a Google search so you don’t have to work for it anymore?
